Hey people!
School has been really really really busy and my outside stuff have been really really really busy as well....
There's dance and there's shooting and there's the normal academic workload and there's outside dance and there's work and there's socialising time as well.... I don't seem to have enough hours in a day to do everything I want to do!
Anyway... Speaking of socialising time.... I've been spending so much time with my OG mates that I think I'll even dream about them in my sleep.... I see them at the lodge in the morning, I see them during school hours in the corridors or in the Lecture Theatres, I see them after school for lunch or for dinner, and I see them on the weekends sometimes for OG outings!
But of course there are only a handful of those in the OG who are still really enthu about everything... Though no names shall be mentioned here.....
In particular, I would like to talk about this certain person (let's call him "THO" by request) that has really made me realise that first impressions are not always the lasting impressions.
At first I thought he was really dao and really uber proud because he wouldn't talk to anyone other than his own company and he had this perpetual smug look on his face... Well, as you can see, my first impression of him wasn't... the best...
Anyway as time went by I found that actually he's actually a really nice person... Friendly... Light-hearted... Humble.... not at all how i described him in the above paragraph...
People always say that first impressions make up 70% of how you will think of someone in the future. But I beg to differ. I do not mean to say that THO changed from a proud and arrogant person to a friendly and humble friend. He didn't change at all. He was probably like that right from the start.
What is the truth in first impressions?
Are they as important as we think they are?
What is the difference between appearance (what it seems to be) and reality (what it really is)?
If we cannot judge a person's character by his/her appearance... How?
THO has taught me many things... about first impressions... about standing up for your friends... and mostly, about putting others before oneself.
There are so many in my OG who are like that... so deceiving in appearance and different in nature... No names mentioned, once again...
*At this point i've already digressed too far to come to an appropriate conclusion to my entry.
